Household Tech I

// May 10th, 2010 // No Comments » // Education, Electronics, Gadgets, Hardware, Life, Tech, TechKnowledgey

Part one of an ongoing series looking at the household tech everyone should have. The first room is none other than the bathroom. I take a look at the electric toothbrush, shaver, as well as many other, more strange, bathroom gadgets. Many people may be happy with their lo-tech solutions, while others may use tech in these instances already, but no one can escape the household tech that everyone should use.

ThinkGeek Week: Can Balls Be Bucky?

// February 24th, 2010 // No Comments » // Entertainment, Fun, Gadgets, Reviews, TechKnowledgey

Indeed, balls can be bucky. How you might ask? Well, in this episode of TechKnowledgey show I intend to show you as the second product for ThinkGeek week gets to be shown off – Bucky Balls. They are these awesome little earth magnet balls that are incredibly fun to play with. You can make some really cool things with them, and the more you play around with them, the more you learn! Unfortunatley, my Bucky Ball skills are only first developing, so to see how awesome these things are when used to their fullest potetial check out the video at ThinkGeek linked to below.

But in all seriousness, this toy is addicting! It is an incredibly cool concept and you won’t really know how cool it is until you hold it in your hand and play around with it. They were awarded the “Toy Of The Year” award last year for a reason; These things are great! You gotta get a set…

On a total side note, this is my 100th blog post! Pretty amazing how far we’ve come in such a relatively short time. A big thank you to all you TechKnowledgists out there!

ThinkGeek Week: A Ball Of Plasma

// February 23rd, 2010 // No Comments » // Computer, Electronics, Entertainment, Gadgets, Reviews, Tech, TechKnowledgey

The first gadget for ThinkGeek Week takes the stage in this episode. I talk about the USB Plasma Ball, and why it’s such a cool thing to have on your desk. To be quite honest, it is just an incredibly unique thing to have around. Think about it – How many people do you know of that have Plasma Balls on their desk?!

Plus, on top of it’s cool aesthetic look, you could probably shock people with it as well, just like all Plasma Balls. What’s super nice about this one though, is that it’s got an on-off switch, yes. It is nice and compact and looks good, yes. But better than all of that; It’s USB! So anywhere you have a USB port you can plug this in a show it off (and yes, maybe shock a person or two.)

The End Of CES 2010

// January 11th, 2010 // 1 Comment » // Apple, Electronics, Entertainment, Gadgets, Hardware, Information, Media, Software, Tech

As sad as it is CES 2010 has ended, but not before bringing us some great new products! I talk about a few of them and give my thoughts and closing remarks. Of course, there are such an insane amount of gadgets and things to see at any CES, so I only talk about a few of the big ones. The new Palms are nice to see from the company everyone thought was dead. And the abundance of E-Readers got me thinking which one would win.

There is still much to look forward to as the Apple Event and Macworld are just around the corner. And then CES 2011 after that! One day I’d love to attend CES, but until then – it’s gadgets from my house!

It’s CES 2010!

// January 6th, 2010 // No Comments » // Blog, Electronics, Gadgets, Google, Hardware, Information, Tech

It is indeed the start of CES 2010 and all us tech geeks are getting giddy with excitement. There have already been a number of interesting announcements, like the Google Nexus One, the Lenovo SkyLight, and the BoxeeBox from D-Link and the creators of Boxee. All of which I share my thoughts on in this video.

I wont’t be doing a video every day of CES with my thoughts, but this has been my opening thoughts, and I will be doing a video with my closing remarks as well (when sadly, the end of CES does arrive). I will be blogging about CES 2010 though, right here!

I can’t say the major announcements so far have been so incredible, but they are still crucial to the tech industry as a whole. They also, in and of itself, are still interesting, nice sounding, and looking products. Of course, CES has only just begun and the best is yet to come!

TechKnowledgey Episode 3: Gadgets, Gizmos, and Gear I

// November 29th, 2009 // No Comments » // Gadgets, Holidays, Life, Tech, TechKnowledgey

The holiday season is almost upon us, and so in this episode of TechKnowledgey, I take you through some of my favorite gadgets from an awesome website, http://thinkgeek.com. Gadgets and gizmos are just awesome to begin with, but the ones from ThinkGeek are definitely some of the best. And of course, they make excellent gifts, or stocking stuffers.

Wether you are a tech geek or not, these gadgets are just something you never knew you needed. ThinkGeek is just that kind of website, and after just a few minutes of shopping around, your cart will be full of things that you’ll probably end up buying (I’m still not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing).

Gadgets are the essence of any real geek, and so an episode of Techknowledgey dedicated to just that, seems more than necessary. The truth is that I consider my gadget collection to be quite extensive, so, as you can see from the title, this is only the first installment into the files we call Gadgets, Gizmos, and Gear.

My Holiday ThinkGeek Order

My Holiday ThinkGeek Order

I have ordered from ThinkGeek countless times – I just love getting and collecting gadgets and gizmos and ThinkGeek is by far the best place to do just that. They have the largest selection of anyone, and a lot of the stuff you can only get from them because they either invented it, or they are exclusive carriers. So, for this years holiday season I placed yet another order with them.

And you know, even if you’re not a tech geek like myself, you’ll still find things on ThinkGeek that you’ll just “have” to have. It’s just that kind of store. It shows you things that you never knew you needed! I guarantee you, that if you browse around their store for just a few minutes, your cart will be filled with things that you’ll probably end up buying (maybe that should have been a disclaimer?).

You should have seen the box all this stuff came in! I also got a shirt and bag for school that are not pictured here, so this box was huge. I just have to wait until it is actually a Holiday to be able to open them now… :)

I really have enjoyed all the cool products I’ve gotten from ThinkGeek over the years, and I look forward to placing an order with them again some time. Of course, if you would like to do that, just head on over to http://thinkgeek.com and check them out. Be sure to tell me what you think!
